Trip 6 formed from the ashes of legendary NYHC enigmas The Psychos, with ex-Psychos Tommy Rat (vocals) and Stu Psycho (guitar) teaming up with ex-Ultra Violence\/WarZone drummer Charlie Rage and bassist Zippy. This lineup existed for about a year and managed to turn the crunchy, metal-tinged Psychos set list into one of, if not thee, rawest and and most blown out NYHC release of its time, 1987's \"Back With A Vengeance\" cassette. The cassette included new versions of nine Psychos classics plus four new cuts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDuring their brief existence, Trip 6 also contributed the title track of the demo to Revelation Records' classic \"New York City Hardcore – The Way It Is\" compilation LP and recorded live sets on WNYU and WFMU radio, the latter of which is presented here on side B.
