In the early 90s, Life of Agony was purely a hardcore metal band. With their debut album “River Runs Red,” they built up a loyal fan base by touring non-stop and spreading the word by word of mouth, without much MTV or radio airplay. On their second album, “Ugly” from 1995, the band took a different musical direction, fusing their hardcore sound with the melodic alternative rock of Stone Temple Pilots and Alice In Chains.
Longtime fans and the audience that bought the records were mildly receptive, and the group now faced a new dilemma: should they stay true to their newly chosen musical direction or adapt to their fans' expectations of what Life of Agony's music should sound like? The group decided to do what their hearts told them to do on “Soul Searching Sun.”
“Soul Searching Sun” is available in a numbered, limited edition of 1,000 copies on gold-colored vinyl and includes a 6-page booklet.
