Oasis spent the end of 1996 and the first quarter of 1997 at Abbey Road Studios in London and Ridge Farm Studios in Surrey, recording their third album. "Be Here Now" was released in August 1997, preceded by the UK number one single 'D'You Know What I Mean?. The album was their most anticipated effort, and as such became the subject of considerable media attention. By the end of the first day of release, "Be Here Now" had sold 424,000 units and first week sales reached 696,000, making it the fastest-selling album in British history.

The "Be Here Now" tour, which spanned the UK, Europe, North America, Asia, Oceania, and Latin America, included 85 shows over a period of several months in 1997 and 1998. Starting on 14 June 1997 in support of U2 at the KROQ Weenie Roast in Irvine, California, it ended on 25 March '98 at the Sports Palace in Mexico City. In November '97, Oasis were in Germany and on 19th of the month they played at the Olympiahalle in Munich, where they put on one of the entire tours best loved shows. Performing for 75 minutes, the show was recorded for live broadcast and is now available in its entirety on this new 2LP set.
